How does Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture work?

Our faces are a reflection of our life experiences and emotions, therefore the entire body must be treated in order to obtain a more vibrant healthy appearance on your skin.  The acupuncture needles are very thin and do not hurt. The placement of these needles helps increase circulation to tissue in order to help your skin cells regenerate, drain lymphatic fluids, and receive the nourishment from your blood that it may have been lacking.

What is a standard treatment course?

A standard course of treatment is 12 to 15 facial rejuvenation sessions. Results may be seen after the first treatment, with more sustainable results occurring after the 7th treatment.  These treatments can be provided once a week for 12 weeks or twice a week for 6 weeks.  A second treatment course may be needed for more stubborn or difficult cases.  Maintenance treatments should be scheduled one time per month or seasonally.  Recommendations for protecting your rejuvenation investment will be based on your current health conditions, lifestyle choices, and desired results. An initial intake must be completed before receiving facial rejuvenation treatments. There is a substantial risk of bruising during these treatments therefore it is advised to take a homeopathic arnica supplement prior to and after receiving a facial rejuvenation treatment.

How do I prepare for a session?

It is important to eat before receiving any acupuncture treatment.  Please wear loose clothing and arrive with clean make-up free skin.  Arriving with your skin pre-cleansed and make-up free is essential to helping your facial tissue absorb the oils and flower water essences that may be applied to your face to enhance your results and prevent bruising.

What results can I expect?

The results that can be achieved from these treatments are listed in the benefits section.  This is not plastic surgery, and it does not perform miracles.  Results may be seen as early as the first treatment. The treatments have the potential to remove 5-15 years off of your skin, and improve your over all complexion and coloring.  How long the results of these treatments will last varies; and is greatly influenced by lifestyle choices and diet.  There is a substantial risk of bruising during these treatments.  It is advised to take a homeopathic arnica supplement prior to and after receiving a facial rejuvenation treatment.

Why acupuncture instead of Botox?

Acupuncture is a painless treatment that helps balance your body as a whole system.  Some of the side effects of acupuncture include:  full body relaxation, stress reduction, improved sleep, pain reduction, euphoria, body tingles, improved digestion, and increased energy. The possible cautionary side effects of acupuncture include bruising, a low risk of fainting or dizziness, and a low risk pnuemothorax.  Over all, acupuncture is a very safe and relaxing treatment that has been used for thousands of years to resolve a wide variety of ailments.

Botox is an injectable neuro-toxin.  The botulinum toxin contained in Botox can spread to other body parts beyond where it was injected.

Side effects of Botox include:  allergic reactions, rashes, itching, shortness of breath, nausea, weakness, headache, loss of bladder control, problems with vision, respiratory infections such as cold or flu, neck pain, difficulty swallowing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat, and pain or tenderness at the injection site; Drooping of the eyelid (ptosis), inflammation of the cornea (keratitis), eye dryness, double vision, tearing, and sensitivity to light.
